Bhala Thandanana Movie Review

Sree Vishnu has proven his mettle as an actor on numerous occasions, but finding a story that does him credit appears to be difficult. Bhala Thandanana may seem interesting on paper, but the execution of the heist drama fails to do him justice.

Chandu (Sree Vishnu) works as an accountant at an orphanage when he meets Sashi Rekha, an investigative journalist (Catherine Tresa). The latter investigates a bizarre string of murders and discovers that cold-blooded criminal Anand Bali (Garuda Ram) is to blame. But when she digs more, she discovers alarming secrets about Chandu.

The trailer for Bhala Thandanana made it appear that the picture would be an edge-of-your-seat action entertainer, but it actually takes its time getting into the groove. Director Chaitanya Dantuluri wasted a lot of time building lighthearted moments between these two, she falls for his naivety. She doesn’t look hard enough at the man she loves for someone who can scent out stories. Preachy discussions on today’s newsrooms and journalistic ethics also sound obsolete. The film barely finds its feet for a short time when Sashi becomes concerned about the murders. The interval bang complements Chandu’s admission of his actual character well.

As a result, the second half of the picture fared significantly better than the first. While there are too many twists and turns, not to mention some amusing moments with Posani Krishna Murali, the film mostly remains on track. While the idea and execution are excellent, the sequences are too predictable. The picture could have benefited from crisper editing as well. For a low-budget film, the action sequences are expertly coordinated. The romantic track tries your patience and appears forced in the midst of the pandemonium. The climax has an innovative twist to compensate, but the finale is disappointing. Mani Sharma’s soundtrack also doesn’t help the picture stand out.

Despite its shortcomings, Bhala Thandanana carried considerable weight because to the performances, particularly Sree Vishnu’s. He is outstanding not only while displaying his action chops, but also during the action sequences; plainly, he is capable of much more than what he is given. Catherine is also wonderful; she looks great, and her function is effective as long as she does not lecture about journalism. Garuda Ram, Posani Murali Krishna, and Satya also perform admirably.

Bhala Thandanana is problematic, yet it doesn’t leave you utterly unsatisfied because the performances give this mediocre film some gravity. However, if you’re searching for something that tells a good story, this isn’t it.
